Wihlborg met with quite an accident Monday. While in the barn feeding he fell from te hay lo't and received painful Injuries, not serious, still he may be laid up for a week or two. . Rev. L. Kieth came out Sunday from Carpenter, III., in response to a message that one of his child-ren was very sick. Mrs. Rieth and children are visiting her parents, Rev. and Mrs. A. Wihlborg. . The mission feast held Wednesday and Thursday at the Presbyterian church near Drake was well attended. Miss Minnie Limberg came out from St. Louis last week and Is now staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Limberg. Fred Zlmmerly is now busy baling straw for some of his neighbors. He will also go to Berger where he has a great deal of straw to bale. It becomes our sad duty to chronicle the death of Mrs. Hy . Stude, of near Drake. She died Saturday evening of a lingering illness. The funeral took place Tuesday at 10:00 o'clock at the home of Hy. Stude. The remains were taken to the Presbyterian cemetery near Drake for interment. Your correspondent is not in possession of the details so as to write an obituary, but we most sincerely extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives. How's This? Davis of the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon when he united iu marriage Miss Elizabeth Coppedgo of this city and Gus Garland Le-! Compte of Macon, Mo. The cere-i mony was performed at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Coppedge, in the I presence of only immediate relatives and a few friends. The bride wore a lovely wedding gown of white crepe meteor, trimmed with handsome lace. She carried a shower boquet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. The bride Is one of our most charming young ladies. Until a few months ago she was employed as a stenographer with the Union Abstract Co., Okeemah, Okla., a position she held over three years. Mr. LcCompte is the youngest son of J. W. LeCompte, a banker and an old resident of Cassville, Barry county, this state. Mr. LeCompte holds the position of court stenographer of the Second Judicial Circuit. The happy couple departed ou the afternoon train amid a copious shower of rice. After a brief stay-in St. Louis, they will go to Macon, where they will reside. St. James Journal. Tho bride is a young lady well known in and about Owensville, the Coppedge family having lived here for several years. Her friends join us In extending hearty congratulations.Elisha J. Hollandsworth. Elisha J. Hollundsworth, one of ithe old citizens of Gasconade county, died Monday morning, August 11, after a brief Illness, aged 74 yoars. Deceased hud lived in this county for many years. In h!s later years ho was very fond of relating his experiences in the war and would talk for hours about Incidents In the irreat conflict. Until he became old and decrepit he was an unusu ally hard working man. He leaves three sons Thomas, Louis and Hoy and three daugh ters Mrs. Mary Rapier, Mrs. Jen nie Haddox and Mrs. Dora llad- dox. He died at the home of the last named on the farm ho former ly owned. His wife preceded him in death but a few years. The funeral was held Tuesday, the 12th, interment being In the Liberty cemetery near Canaan. Onion Meeting. Union service will bo conducted as usual every Sunday evening In the park at 7:15. Tho speaker for next Sunday will be Rev. Phelps, a Baptist minister well known to most of our people. This news might surprise the attendants of our lust Union meeting where it had been announced that our Baptist brothers and sisters had resolved to quit the "Union." In explanation the undersigned wishes to state that he has been requested indirectly to give Rev. Phelps a chance to Speak in the park. The stock of goods will be invoiced iu a short time as Mr. Kreter will take possession September 1. Mr. Landwehr recently purchased the William SchaetVer-koetter farm at Bern and Intends to go to farming. He has been in tho Bern store just 2." years tho tirst of September, having purchased same from the late Henry Tayloe. The Bern store has always been considered a very good stand. Davis of the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon when he united iu marriage Miss Elizabeth Coppedgo of this city and Gus Garland Le-! Compte of Macon, Mo. The cere-i mony was performed at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Coppedge, in the I presence of only immediate relatives and a few friends. The bride wore a lovely wedding gown of white crepe meteor, trimmed with handsome lace. She carried a shower boquet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. The bride Is one of our most charming young ladies. Until a few months ago she was employed as a stenographer with the Union Abstract Co., Okeemah, Okla., a position she held over three years. Mr. LcCompte is the youngest son of J. W. LeCompte, a banker and an old resident of Cassville, Barry county, this state. Mr. LeCompte holds the position of court stenographer of the Second Judicial Circuit. The happy couple departed ou the afternoon train amid a copious shower of rice. After a brief stay-in St. Louis, they will go to Macon, where they will reside. St. James Journal. Elisha J. Hollundsworth, one of ithe old citizens of Gasconade county, died Monday morning, August 11, after a brief Illness, aged 74 yoars. Deceased hud lived in this county for many years. In h!s later years ho was very fond of relating his experiences in the war and would talk for hours about Incidents In the irreat conflict. Until he became old and decrepit he was an unusu ally hard working man. He leaves three sons Thomas, Louis and Hoy and three daugh ters Mrs. Mary Rapier, Mrs. Jen nie Haddox and Mrs. Dora llad- dox. He died at the home of the last named on the farm ho former ly owned. His wife preceded him in death but a few years. The funeral was held Tuesday, the 12th, interment being In the Liberty cemetery near Canaan. Onion Meeting. Union service will bo conducted as usual every Sunday evening In the park at 7:15. Tho speaker for next Sunday will be Rev. Phelps, a Baptist minister well known to most of our people. This news might surprise the attendants of our lust Union meeting where it had been announced that our Baptist brothers and sisters had resolved to quit the "Union." In explanation the undersigned wishes to state that he has been requested indirectly to give Rev. Phelps a chance to Speak in the park. Since it Is customary with Christian people to show kindness to everybody and especially to such as we acoordlng to the teachings of Christ consider our fellow brothers in the King's business, no matter what stand they are taking towards us, the undersigned could not refuse.
